About Waxing - By Teresa Tandy and Sheila Burnette
We offer complete, private, personal, full body waxing services using Nuefree (a soy based all natural) Wax and Cirepil Hard Wax for all sensitive areas.
Waxing is a temporary method of hair removal which removes the hair at the root. New hairs do not grow back in the waxed area for two to eight weeks. Almost any area of the body can be waxed, including eyebrows, face, bikini area, legs, arms, back, abdomen and feet. New hair growth in waxed areas is soft and fine, not sharp and coarse like shaved hair. After reapeated waxing, hair rergrowth is less common and eventually some hair may never regrow.
Precautions Before Waxing
Clients who are under the care of a physicial and or have used Retin-A or Accutane in the last 6 months are not to have waxing performed as these medications tend to weaken the skin and may result in tearing of the skin when the wax is removed.
The Waxes We Use
We use four different formulas of wax ready at all times to accommodate the special needs of all our clients, as each person has a different area and degree of sensitivity to waxing. For the larger areas such as leg, back, and abdomen, waxing is accomplished by spreading a soft warm wax combination thinly over the skin. A cloth or paper strip is pressed on top and then ripped off with a quick movement against the direction of hair growth. This removes the wax along with the hair and dead skin cells leaving the skin smooth. A hard wax (Cirepil from France) eliminates the strip used for more sensitive areas. This method is extremely gentle to the skin, yet very effective in removing unwanted hair. We recommend that prior to a waxing treatment that you allow 1/4 inch to grow out on legs, underarms and bikini area. Hair shorter than this may not be long enough to adhere to the wax. We finish each treatment with a soothing spray or gel after waxing which calms and sooths the skin.
Waxing Benefits VS Other Hair Removal Methods
The benefits of waxing versus other forms of hair removal are that it is long lasting. Hair in areas waxed will not grow back for two to four weeks. When hair grows back, it is soft and not coarse like shaved hair. When hair is removed by a depilatory cream, the hair is removed at the surface. Within a few days, the hair can be seen at the surface and the stubble can be felt.
